Prince Nikolaos and Princess Tatiana are divorcing after living together for the last fourteen years. The love between the couple seemed to have fallen out as they decided to get a divorce after living so many years with one another. 

However, the pair wants to respect one another and keep remaining good friends while valuing the years they had enjoyed. On April 19, the royal couple announced the disheartening news in a statement that they are resolving the marriage, after thinking hard on the subject. Both loved each other dearly while walking together in life for more than a decade. Moreover, they respect each other as well, hence, deciding to end the marriage was tough for them. 

Apart from that, it seems that there are no hard feelings between them as they have resolved to remain friends after getting divorced. Additionally, the couple doesn’t have any children and will continue to live in Greece. Their family also supports their decision while respecting their notions. The couple is thankful to all for being generous to them.  

Royals’ Reaction to Prince Nikolaos and Princess Tatiana of Greece Are Divorcing 

Some royals (family members) gave them a pass, however, others were stunned by the news that Prince Nikolaos and Princess Tatiana of Greece are divorcing. Some days before the statement, the couple united at the Thanksgiving service for King Constantine II. King Constantine II was the ruler of Greece, the king ruled until abolition in June 1973. The last king of Greece was also the father of Prince Nicholaos, his third child. 

At St. George Chapel in Windsor Castle,  Greece, the royale of the nation gathered together for the services in February 2024. The Thanksgiving services to the Last King of Greece were successfully wrapped. Only Prince William had to drop out from the ceremony admits the occasion. 

Later, it was revealed that Prince William couldn’t honor his godfather’s death anniversary due to Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis and had to leave immediately. His Godfather King Constantine II of Greece died in 2023. 

When did Prince Nikolaos and Princess Tatiana Meet?

Do you know that a royal couple of Greece met on a ski holiday in Switzerland, Prince Nikolaos, and Princess Tatiana? After six years of knowing each other since 2003, the pair decided to tie the knot through an engagement. In 2010, they got married and started living in Athens. 

Prince Nikolaos and Princess Tatiana got married in August 2010 in Greece. The ceremony took place at the Cathedral of Ayio on the island of Spetses. The new princess wore an Antique Corsage Tiara at her wedding. 

The Antique Corsage Tiara belonged essentially to Queen Anne Marie, however, she gave Tatiana to wear it as a bride of the royal family. Presently, Tatiana is 43 years old and Prince Nikolaos is 54. 

At the wedding of Prince Nikolaos and Princess Tatiana, many royal guests came to attend the joyous occasion, including:

The royals of Greece have an amicable bond with British royals and the monarchy. The late Prince Phillip was close to the prince from Greece and since then, they have had close ties. In the 1920s, the country acted against their royals, overthrew the king, and had to flee from Greece, the King took refuge in Britain. At that time, Prince Philip was just a baby. 

King Constantine II lived in London after the exile along with his family. King Constantine II of Greece was close to King Charles and returned to his country in 2013. Likewise, Elizabeth II (the Queen of Britain) and Prince Philip were godparents to Constantine’s children. The children affectionately called the late Queen “Aunt Lilibet” to ascertain their close bondage. 

Prince Nikolaos and Princess Tatiana of Greece are divorcing, however, they used to be in love and attended multiple total gatherings as a lovely couple. The pair also gathered at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s marriage ceremony in London in 2011. They were famous for being a happily married couple. 

Apart from that, Nikolaos was born in 2969 after his father was exiled and a dictatorship ruled Greece. Later, a referendum was issued to transform the country into a republic for the monarchy. 

Nikolaos grew up in Denmark, due to the perilous condition of the royal family in Greece. The young prince attended an English private school for two years in his juvenile years. Later, Nikolaos served in the Royal Navy. 

Whereas, his wife belonged to an aristocratic German family. Tatiana was born in Venezuela, but she grew up in Switzerland and lost her father at the age of seven. Her father died by suicide leaving his family alone.
