The Church of the Highlands exposed sexual misconduct and asserted that no clergy can stay at The lodge if they are accused of sexual misconduct. Pastor Chris Hodge created the retreat center for pastors suffering from burnout.

In the event on the church’s campus in Irondale, Hodges clarified his previous comments. Prior, he had talked about a pastoral restoration center for burnout ministers to rest, worship, and grow. However, he asserted that he wasn’t including the clergy accused of sexual misconduct in The Lodger.

The alleged comments that clergy is used for sexual misconduct aren’t true and they won’t tolerate it. Although Hodges has clarified the purpose of The Lodger, his previous comments and church controversies couldn’t be repelled by the effect of his statement.

The racial scandal wasn’t a scandal but a public demonstration of the church’s clergy vanity. Hodges liked tweets of a racist Charlie Krik and right-wing media pundit which aroused severe response from the netizens. After the backlash, Hodges had to apologize publically for his improper actions.

After the accusations surfaced widely in the media and among the people, they denied the accusations and called them unfounded while defending their officials. Later, they proclaimed someone was trying to tarnish their image. Henceforth, one can’t support the church for defending its clergy that we’re in the wrong. Hodges has denied the skepticism regarding the Restoration or The Lodge’s accommodation of their guilty clergy, rather they want to give the residence to depressed and retired officials.
