US electric flying car makers Archer and Falcon Aviation are building vertiports in two cities: Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Now, science and digital intentions are going to materialize every fictitious innovation. 

The two cities will connect through Archer’s Midnight, which is the first endeavor of Archer. Midnight is a piloted four-passenger aircraft, which can conduct rapid back-to-back flights. The flights charge minimal time between flights, saving time consumption. The first flying car airports are being built at two locations: 

  • Falcon Heliport in Atlantis the Palm in Dubai 
  • Marina Mall Heliport Abu Dhabi’s Corniche.

Are Flying Cars in UAE Safe, Economical, and Reliable?

Usually, one needs to take 60 to 90 minutes to travel between both cities by car, whereas, you can take an electric air taxi flight to cut down the time from 10 to 30 minutes. Many people must be afraid of taking a flight car as they might have height phobia (Acrophobia) or might feel nauseous.

Whereas, the CEO of Falcon Aviation, Captain Ramandeep Oberoi said that they have been trying to build the forefront of helicopter passenger transport for two decades. The company has been trying to make the flying cars in UAE project successful in the world before anyone else. 

Nikhil Goel is the chief commercial officer of Archer and has often given statements regarding the rapid progress of the Midnight airports progress. After announcing publicly that Abu Dhabi and Dubai will initiate their first international midnight flight in 2025, the growth of the work and progress has been immense for the last three months. 

Joby Aviation, RTA, and Skyports Agreements on Flying Cars

In February 2024, Joby Aviation signed a contract with the Dubai Road and Transport Authority (RTA). The agreement entailed the details about the air taxi services launched at several locations. According to the sources, the expected date of the launch is 2026, however, Joby is trying to launch initial operations as early as 2025. 

If you don’t know what Joby Aviation is, fret not. Joby Aviation is a US-based company that develops all-electric aircraft. The services they provide are for commercial passenger services. They also have an agreement with Skyports. 

According to the contract of Joby and Skyports, they are going to design, build, and operate four vertiport sires across Dubai:

  • Dubai International Airport
  • Palm Jumeirah
  • Dubai Marina
  • Downtown

UAE Flying Racing Cars Sports Event 

After the launch of this and flying cars in UAE, it will hold sports events and championships of the flying cars. A single-seater car can fly 4 to 5 meters above the ground, enabling the spectators to enjoy the show. According to Christian Pineau’s analysis, the UAE Racing Aircraft Championship will have 8-10 participants. 

Before the event, each participant will have to receive special training to operate S11 flying cars, only the top 8 to 10 candidates will get the chance to participate in the event. Helicopter pilots will train the participants, as it’s tougher to fly the cars and helicopters alike. However, they will also have to go through simulator training before practical one. 

Mac’s Flight CEO revealed that the participants will practice their skills and test the flying vehicles on the race track. The championship will be organized after the launch of vertiports and flying cars in 2025. The inaugural flying car race might take place in Abu Dhabi or Dubai, while the other events of the league might commence at other emirates. 

The GCC countries showed interest in hosting the event in multiple other regions around the globe including: 

  • Saudi Arabia
  • Bahrain
  • Kuwait
